From the Subways to the Streets

HE swings open a small red gate at the end of the subway platform, ignoring the warning that reads ”Do Not Enter or Cross Tracks,” and enters the dank tunnel just west of the Lafayette Avenue station in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. A green light illuminates the youthful contours of his face as he saunters down the last narrow wedge of forbidden platform.
